You can also fast travel using the map, but only to destinations you've already visited. The game will manage quest markers however. You can move or remove a map marker once it has been dropped. The map will then show you each metro station through which you need to travel. For example, if you want to get to a destination in DC, select that destination and drop your map marker. You can also select a destination on the map and the it will then display all the points necessary to get to that destination. Highlighting a quest will set guides for going to destinations at each stage of the quest. There is no way to bind a key specifically to the map itself unfortunately, but if you are travelling and toggle in and out of the PipBoy, you can use F3.įurthermore, you can set way points of a sort. So if you were looking at the map, you can hit F3 to bring it up. The PipBoy remembers which screen you were in last. F3 will bring up the screens with your maps, quest info, and radio.

There may be some way to port them over, but until I figure it out that means I can't play the DLC for the game I started and played not on Live.
Now it seems that if I sign into Live to get the DLC, my non-Live saves aren't recognized. I had issues getting Live working before I started playing (FO3 doesn't alt-tab very well) and just got into it without bothering setting up my Live account and put in a few hours. You have to buy it via XBox Live for PC (there's an option in the main menu of the game itself), which means buying Microsoft points or whatever they're called.Īlso, I found this out recently: If you want achievements or to play DLC, make sure you sign into Live for PC BEFORE you start playing. This one I can field: all of the DLC (Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout) are available for the Steam version, but not FROM Steam. Another question - what, if any, add-ons are available through Steam? Are the "normal" add-ons compatible with a Steam version of the game?
